Oh What A Night!

Good! Because last night I was invited to one of the grandest events Manchester has ever hosted…. in a basement.

The official interactive launch party of Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders.  Which was for me, sponsored by FedEx as I’d ordered a special piece to finish off my outfit for the night and it wasn’t going to make it in time so FedEX shipped it to me overnight for FREE… their customer service is beyond awesome and much like Mark Macready and co found me on twitter, that’s how Fed Ex discovered my plight.

Highly recommended!

On with the show though, this was more like a reunion for the cast of Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders and a tweetup for those of us that have reviewed and supported the film, through the medium of the interweb.

It’s strange to have people you don’t recognise come up to you and introduce themselves but never tell you their name so you have to poke the people around you and ask who that was.  You see the profile pics every day and share some of your everyday workings with these people online that in person you can hit it off or face a wall of awkward silence.  I had a mixture of that last night.

Then again I am a geek and I very rarely find myself in social situations for the fear that someone may hit me for coming out with some insensitive comment.  I say a lot of terrible things, I don’t know why… it just happens.

Luckily for me however the Macready party was a hit, people I tweet with everyday turned up and it was like we’d been friends for eternity.  It was a little freaky when @Horrorextreme was convinced @zombienatty09 and I were married, when her husband was RIGHT NEXT TO US…. woah awkward much? lol

Besides Natty and I only had sex the once and she got her school girl crush out of her system.  We’re fine now.

Even @podcastdoors tried to interrupt my night and expected me to do a podcast… I mean COME ON, I stepped in to take over from Phil and Chris now expects me to be on call 24/7… it’s like he’s grooming me for something!

I really don’t know what to say, I had a blast with everyone… @Keaton76 and her hubby, so glad they could make it.  @Lipstatto666 I was pretty sure she was gonna punch me on site as I did make a comment about winding her up by sticking magnets to her secret piercings… However, we LOVE LIPS, we approve heartily of her uberness and arty talent, she even gave me the finger!

It’s strange how one small film made by a bunch of loveable and likeable people and one or two not so likeable (oooo controversy) can bring together a twitter community to rally support… and become a success at the same time

Congrats to the Macready team for such a success and here’s to more, just don’t get too rich cause I may cry!

Highlights:

• Showing off my Macrady tie… Paul Newbury and Ry McDermott was most impressed.
• Meeting fabulous tweeters and getting to provoke Natty into hitting me.
• Having Kelsey Feed look enviously at my iPad
• Winning Funniest Mac Tweeter… then seeing Natty receive nothing getting to call her shittiest tweeter.
• Meeting Ashleigh, she was lovely and looks forward to seeing what I have in store for her question wise…
• Avoiding getting cuffed by Mr Newbury
• Popping outside to chat to some folks and laughing with Natty that they were probably doing the Twitter awards and we weren’t there to receive them.

Lowlights:

• Buying FOUR FUCKING strips of raffle tickets and winning FUCK ALL!!!! I wanted those lipstattoo666 key rings…. Fuck you McDermott!!! FUCK YOU!!!
