Battlefield 1943 sells 1 million units

EA has confirmed that on Xbox Live, 1 million purchases of the game ‘Battlefield 1943′ has been downloaded.

Game Producer Gordon Van Dyke went on to say

“The reception of Battlefield 1943 continues to amaze us, even months after the game was released. Being the fastest game to reach this milestone is an incredible achievement. The game has set a new standard for what can be done in the downloadable games category. It’s fantastic to see how gamers have recognized the value that the game delivers for just $15. It is another great entry point into the Battlefield franchise”

Released in 2009, the game has already accumulated four awards and also is said to be the most popular downloaded game on the Xbox system. Although limited to three maps, the game was engineered using the new Frostbite engine and caught the gamers attention with the level of gameplay involved where up to 24 players can fight against each other trying to take control of territories that were made famous during the Pacific Campaign of WWII.

Planes, Tanks and Infantry...what more could you want in War!

Available at 1200ms points, lets see how this game continues now as it’s bigger brother Bad Company 2 has been released. Congratulations though DICE studios, from my point of view, you made one hell of a great game there! Keep it up!
