Underground: The Descent Part 3 -Trailer

Wow, it seems like Clausto-Horror is in this year.  With the rather shaky Stag Night that failed to impress me at Frightfest in Glasgow and now Underground adds another aspect to the Clausto-horror genre.

The brits among you may be forgiven for thinking that this is a film where a group are beset by creatures on the LONDON Underground but no, someone saw sense and remembered Christopher Smith did that in CREEP.

Underground features some creatures that look uncannily like they’ve stepped right out of The Descent and into an underground army bunker.   Not a teeny Army Bunker but an group of bunkers connected by tunnels beneath an abandoned base.  Once again I take the info from what I’ve just seen in the trailer…

In fact, here’s the blurb from the youtube channel.  Apparently it’s the most anticipated horror of 2010.  So anticipated I hadn’t heard of it until 5 minutes ago.

The most anticipated horror film experience of 2010. A group of friends fight for their lives against lethal and ravenous creatures lurking underground.

The group will find themselves at the mercy of creatures genetically engineered by the military to be expendable in battle. They are stronger and faster than humans and can destroy their enemies with their bare hands and teeth.

These creatures survived in the dark, eating whatever flesh wandered into their lair. Though they fought countless battles in Iraq, Matt and Storm never knew real fear until they went underground.

that looks like a cross between the start of Blade (vampires), American Werewolf in Paris (werewolves) and Descent (whatever the hell they were)….hell you could even compare it to Blade 2 and it’s sewer scenes.

  2. Gotta say, I thought the Blade stuff when I saw the opening to the trailer. It looks like a mish mash of former creations and superbly low budget. Hooray! I liked the unscary hand coming out of the water

Mish mash is right, when the trailer started it had a definite ‘Blade’ feel to it & the creatures have been ripped straight outta The Descent. Although by the end I was won over, I like dark, claustrophobic horror, I find it quite effective. I’ve got my fingers crossed, I think there’s potential for a good film here.

  4. [...] Descent: Part 2 missed missed the mark … maybe The Descent: Part 3 will do a better job? [...]

You didn’t actually read the description did you? Or pick up on the irony and if you want to call someone an idiot, spell it correctly and if you’re going to swear at least spell that right as well. :)

    Have a nice day.
