The Dollhouse Comes To A Close…

… How Gutted am I?

News has just broken that Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse has been cancelled by the FOX Network, it isn’t a surprise as FOX tend to do this to the majority of the SciFi shows they invest in.  I still miss Nathan Fillion in Drive and Eliza Dushku in Tru Calling.

Although Eliza Dushku stars in Dollhouse a lot of fans said she may not have the range to play the parts required for the role of Echo.  A young woman who signs her life away for five years, to be a Doll a blank slate, her mind completely wiped and replaced with other memories, scenarios of those who would pay the highest price for her company or the skills of a negotiator or even an assassin. Time after time…

FOX Network have always been about action and I believe Dollhouse simmered too long during season one before things really got going and we were treated to a cracking finale.  At least FOX will continue to air all thirteen episodes, two of which have yet to be filmed.

Two million viewers week after week would be awesome for The CW but for FOX it barely registers on their radar.  At least Joss Whedon has been promised enough artistic licence to give the show a cracking send off.

Goodbye Echo and the rest of the Dolls, you were entertaining while you lasted… We love you all…

“I still miss Nathan Fillion in Drive”

You don’t watch Castle then? Plenty of good Nathan Fillion action in that one.

  2. I did try watching Castle but I felt it was too much like The Mentalist or something very similar that I already watch. :)

It didn’t hold my interest and he just comes off as a smarmy bastard.

Same Nathan, Same network, same bloody story… Firefly is one of my favorite shows ever. At least he got to make a film to close it after it was cancelled.
